Designing a modern and state-of-the-art compressor room involves several key considerations to ensure efficiency, safety, and reliability. Here are some important aspects to keep in mind:

  • Centralized Location: Position the compressor room in a centralized location close to the point of use. This minimizes pressure drops and improves operating economy.
  • Space and Layout: Ensure there is enough space for easy maintenance and future expansion. The layout should allow for proper ventilation and noise control.
  • Clean Intake Air: The intake air for the compressor must be clean and free of contaminants to ensure efficient operation and intake fan must be installed to keep the positive air pressure in the compressor room.
  • Ventilation: Proper ventilation is crucial to dissipate heat generated by the compressors and maintain optimal operating temperatures.
  • Heat Recovery: You can reuse this excessive and exhausted heat in your processes or facility for heating purposes by installing a heat recovery system in your compressor room.
  • Auxiliary Equipment: Include necessary auxiliary equipment such as air dryers, filters, and air receivers to maintain the quality and consistency of the compressed air.
  • Monitoring: Install power and flow meters in your compressor room to monitor the power supply and compressed air generated to check the efficiency of your compressed air system and monitor the costs
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to local regulations and safety standards to ensure the compressor room is safe for operation and maintenance.

The Center of Excellence in Compressed Air (CECA) at the National Textile University (NTU) in Faisalabad, Pakistan, is a pioneering facility established on October 16, 2020. This center is the first fully featured compressed air training facility in Pakistan, created in collaboration with the Asian Institute of Industrial Air (AIIA), National Textile University, Rastgar Group of Companies, and international equipment suppliers from Germany, France, and the Netherlands.

Key Features and Objectives:

  • Training and Education: CECA aims to train industry professionals and NTU graduates in compressed air engineering, adhering to ISO standards.
  • Modern Equipment: The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art compressed air equipment donated by Rastgar Group (Pakistan), aluminum piping from Parker (France), and monitoring equipment from VP Instruments (Netherlands).
  • Industry Collaboration: The center works closely with the textile industry to improve productivity, reduce energy costs, and enhance the knowledge of compressed air engineering.
  • Research and Innovation: CECA supports university research related to air-operated machinery, energy conservation, and pneumatic automation.

This initiative is a significant step towards advancing the knowledge and application of compressed air technology in Pakistan’s textile industry. Learn more about training courses being offered at Center of Excellence in Compressed Air (CECA)
